Research abstract

THE OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE PROPOSED RESEARCH PROGRAM IS TO DEVELOP A NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR THE IN SITU DEHALOGENATION OF TOXIC CHLORINATED AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS IN GROUNDWATER AND SOILS BY EXPLOITING THE UNLIMITED CATALYTIC ACTIVITY OFFERED BY MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES. IN PHASE I, SCIENTECH RESEARCH, INC. PROPOSES TO DEMONSTRATE THE FEASIBILITY OF THIS NEW TECHNOLOGY TO TREAT MONOCHLOROBENZENE, A PROTOTYPICAL CHLORINATED AROMATIC HYDROCARBON, IN PHASE II, THEY WILL EXTEND THIS TECHNOLOGY TO OTHER CHLORINATED AROMATICS AND THEIR MIXTURES THAT REPRESENT TOXIC CHEMICALS PRESENT IN THE ENVIRONMENT.
