Research abstract
To address the Air Force’s need for a serious physical readiness crisis that threatens combat effectiveness, increased injury rates among Airmen, and rising medical costs, trainwell is bringing advanced one on one personal training to the DoD. Given the demanding nature of military operations, maintaining physical fitness is essential for mission success and the well-being of personnel. To tackle these issues, we need a solution that provides targeted, adaptable, and individualized physical training. However, implementing such programs for every Airman has historically been too costly. Fortunately, advancements in technology are changing the fitness landscape. Trainwell focuses on fostering consistent habits and workout completion, ensuring accountability for all users. With real trainers available to answer questions about fitness and nutrition, Airmen can receive personalized support tailored to their needs—whether it's a postpartum mother getting back to her baseline or an overburdened Airman with just 20 minutes a day dedicated to fitness.Trainwell aims to leverage the SBIR program to scale and enhance their core technology, enabling personal trainers to efficiently manage more clients while reducing costs. This innovation will make one-on-one personal training a viable option for the Department of Defense.
