Research abstract

Lynne Gilfillan Associates (LGA) Phase I research allowed them to identify and refine a set of foundational constructs on which they propose to build an Integrated Agent Environment. This Phase II research effort will require them to design an integratedsemantic/contextual knowledge representation structure, integrate information retrieval functionality to extract conceptual content from resources, and to advance their real-time learning algorithm to incorporate support for complex concept spaces. LGA'sKnowledge Management system (TheResearchPlace), for deployment will provide adaptive agents that can learn about a user's information interests, evaluate the relevance of resources against a user's interests, autonomously expand search criteria, pushrelevant information to users from agent -monitored sources, discover new information pertaining to a user's tasks and facilitate collaboration between similarly interested users.
