Research abstract

Star Catcher Industries, Inc. (Star Catcher) proposes to address the power limitations currently seen in space assets by developing a space-based energy grid capable of beaming concentrated solar power to assets on demand, enabling a 2 to 10-fold increase in available power, thus enabling missions that were previously impossible/too costly, while enhancing the resilience, mission uptime, and operational capabilities of current systems without requiring hardware modifications. Due to the proliferation of satellites in LEO, now is the idea moment to develop a space-to-space power beaming infrastructure for DoD and commercial use.
