Research abstract
Astron Corporation proposes to integrate supportability low profile covert antenna system requirements to cover a frequency span of 2 - 2000 MHz within two multi mobile platforms which will adapt to various transportable applications. The specific objectives of the Phase I effort are: a. OBJECTIVE 1 -Initiate a Preliminary Design Review meeting to identify and define the contractual requirements. b. OBJECTIVE 2 -Identify all applicable/potential Astron antenna designs to support the requirements. c. OBJECTIVE 3 -Research any applicable competitor's (Domestic/Foreign) off- the-shelf antenna models. d. OBJECTIVE 4 -Implement computer analysis modeling. e. OBJECTIVE 5 -Construct and test antenna brassboard experimental models on the various Astron range simulators. f. OBJECTIVE 6 -Prepare a mechanical analysis and an efficient concept for Class (1) and (2) mobile platforms. A six activity work effort has been developed to analyze the potential support- ability requirements, determine the application for each requirement, prepare task and sub-task statements required and develop a mechanical/electrical plan for integration of the multi antenna array into a minimum of two classes of efficiently functional mobile platforms. This new Low profile-Covert antenna system approach will assist both government acquisition personnel and contractors to state-of-the-art new and innovative approaches to future antenna communication requirements. POTENTIAL COMMERCIAL APPLICATION: A future Phase II effort could support emergency or backup requirements for the police, aircraft and marine personnel where disaster imposes an immediate need for a broad- band range of frequency coverage for a successful mission.
