Research abstract

Corvid Technologies will develop a digital prototype and high-fidelity aerodynamic database of a low-cost hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) that can be used in tracking and live-fire testing of counter-hypersonic defensive weapons systems.  This vehicle will feature a high lift-to-drag ratio, enabling long glide times and aggressive maneuvers to stress US and allied systems.  Corvid will enhance the aerodynamic database with detailed feature increment models to account for real-world vehicle components, such as antennas, doors, gaps, and lifting features, that are otherwise not present in a pristine outer mold line.  Corvid will develop a design and concept of operations for a shroud to cover the HGV during boost phase and ensure adequate stability of the full vehicle stack.
