Research abstract

AutoCrawler LLC has been developing a new environmentally compliant coatings removal technology , called AuotCrawler to the airframe manufacturing and maintenance industries. AuotCrawler to the airframe manufacturing and maintenance industries. AutoCrawler LLC is working with firms developing new technologies, including plastic bead media, and Wheat starch coatings removal technologies including high pressure water jet, flash lamp with C¿-2 and 3-M surface abrading with closed loop strip rate and feed back control. AutoCrawler is proving to be ideal for the delivery of such technologies to the surface of the aircraft in a closed loop system. This purpose research will develop for the transport and applications technology necessary to remove coatings from aircraft that offer a near zero VOC content and provide a paint stripping methods that exceeds Air Force requirements in surface coverage, flexibility and easy to use. This research will develop and interface systems for high pressure water jet, infrared flash lamp and plastic bead media technologies in a form suitable to enable delivery of such systems by AutoCrawler. In Phase I AutoCrawler LLC will perform an demonstration for the Air Force with medium or high pressure water using a rotary nozzle from LARPS to strip paint from aircraft.AutoCrawler LLC has been developing a new environmentally compliant coatings removal technology , called AuotCrawler to the airframe manufacturing and maintenance industries.
