Research abstract

Future unmanned, autonomous air-vehicle teams will perform battlefield tasks of increasing value and complexity. More attention needs to be given to the practical communication constraints that will limit the achievable performance of the decentralizedalgorithms for cooperative decision and control of these systems. In this project we will establish the theoretical framework for the modeling and analysis tools needed to quantify the effects of communication constraints on these algorithms, and we willidentify and analyze specific algorithms that may achieve near-optimal performance. Algorithmic design and analysis tools to enable highly robust, wireless, distributed communication, decision and control systems
