IN THIS PROJECT, A SERIES OF EXPERIMENTS WILL BE CONDUCTED TO DETERMINE THE EFFECTS OF MODIFYING FLOW DISTRIBUTION IN THE PITT MILL TO FURTHER IMPROVE GRINDING EFFICIENCY. THIS WORK WILL BE CARRIED OUT TO OPTIMIZE PRE-MIXING WITHIN THE PITT MILL BY MODIFYING THE MODE OF MIXING NOW USED; IMPROVE FLOW THROUGH THE GRINDING BED BY MODIFYING THE PRODUCT CIRCULATION NOW USED; AND TEST THE EFFECTS OF CONSTRAINED CIRCULATION THROUGH THE BED USING EXTERNAL MEANS.
