Research abstract

Few design codes are available for modeling inductive output tubes (IOTs), which are used in accelerators for nuclear physics research. This limitation is slowing the development of high efficiency RF sources. This program will develop improved, user-friendly design codes for modeling IOTs. The approach will build on an existing code developed for klystrons. Commercial Applications and other Benefits as described by the awardeeThe new computer code should enable more rapid design of high efficiency IOTs for accelerator applications.
