Research abstract

Measurement of the human brain's electrical fields at the scalp surface has recently been advancedarray technologies. Imaging of these surface electrical fields has become important for both medicalapplications. Even as new methods for source localization in brain tissues are developed, they mustexamination of accurate, dynamic, surface field maps. Phase I research evaluates the feasibility ofcommercial Surface Imaging Program for imaging brain electrical activity at the head surface by builtechnology developed at the Brain Electrophysiology Laboratory (BEL) at the University of Oregon. Twprograms, Interpolator, and RIB-Controller, interpolate data from measured points and provide anatomregistration with skull and head anatomy with both 2D and 3D representations. This research would bespecification of the desired scientific functionality of a Surface Imaging Program, evaluate the adeprograms for this end, implement a revised prototype program that provides a practical test of thisaccuracy of the interpolation algorithms at channel densities of 16, 32, 64, 128 and 256 channels, aPhase II software development project to meet the objectives of both scientific accuracy and efficie
