Research abstract
Even though most fractures heal without significant medical complications, they result, nonethelessamount of physical disability, loss of industrial productivity, and represent a major national healtThis has led to a continued search for a methodology which can be utilized to stimulate the fracturecurrently estimated that of the 6,000,000 fractures which occur annually, 100,000 become nonunions;delayed unions; while 500,000 can be classified as difficult to heal or take over an average of 20 wto enhance fresh fracture healing using ultrasound offers the potential of significantly shorteningfor complicated fractures such as those of the tibia. The long-term objective of this work is to devtreatment modality that will significantly reduce the healing time for fresh fractures and reduce thdelayed unions and nonunions. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the feasibility of utilizing ufresh fracture healing.
