Research abstract

Phase I will characterize the performance improvement of an electronic camera fitted with a Transparent Spatial Filter. Such a filter, by band-limiting an input image to match the sampling characteristics of the camera, will remove the output errors associated with undersampling. The resultant higher fidelity image will therefore yield higher performance in subsequent image processing application such as target detection and classification.
