Research abstract
This proposed effort is an analytical assessment of the applicability of compatible system-on-chip modernization and technology insertion into H-60 Mission Avionics. The principal issue is to determine the extent of SOC integration within H-60 avionicsthat is possible in an affordable and timely manner. CPU Tech has developed and put into practice the underlying technology that enables SOC based system level modernization. If feasible, such modernization can make significant reductions in weight, powerconsumption, heat dissipation, cost and sustainment while dramatically increasing reliability, performance, memory, robustness, and usability. Additionally, such compatible modernization will enable the development of new software while retaining allcurrent flight proven software code, test equipment, ground support systems, and system level interfaces. There are significant opportunities available to CPU Tech to engage in profitable avionics modernization programs for a wide range of commercial andmilitary aircraft, both fixed and rotary wing. The technology developed, modified, or used directly by the H-60 modernization will be applicable to a large number of modernization programs for commercial helicopter, other H-60 class vehicles, commercial, business and general aviation aircraft. CPU Tech expects to leverage the H-60 specific technology application into other programs. CPU Tech has in place a business development process specifically targeting the modernization of avionics systems as aprimary business objective.
