Research abstract

An AEW CMD simulation workstation is proposed that employs high fidelity, physics based modeling to accurately portray sensor performance operating under real-world conditions of clutter and jamming. Deterministic background scenes will be employed, allowing the simulation to be exercised in specific scenarios on a world-wide basis against cruise missile sized targets. The simulation will be structured to allow advanced technologies such as Space/Time Adaptive processing to be incorporated, using the results of on-going space/time analytic and experimental investigations. The high fidelity simulation provides a cost effective alternative for assessing the performance capability of advanced radar systems. The simulation is to be real time, and provide graphical displays of key performance indexes. Future versions of the simulation will be DIS-compatible. A demonstration of the key simulation features will be conducted at the end of Phase I.
