Research abstract

Web-based educational content is being developed in vast numbers throughout the scientific community, much of it by DOE funded scientists. Most of this material is being developed on an ad hoc basis and there is presently no easy or systematic way for teachers, parents, or students to find it. This project will develop a systematic approach to find and collect scientific educational content. A number of search and collection strategies will be developed and tested, using DOE laboratories as a pilot sample. Commercial Applications and other Benefits as described by the awardee: The search software should assist the collection of scientific information and greatly increase the use of science education content found on the Web.
