Research abstract

A tire footpring analyzer consisting of an 8x8 array of strain sensors will be developed in Phase I to measure slip velocities and contact stress under different loading conditions. The sensor sheet will be applicable on a flat, paved track or on a dynamometer. The sensor sheet will be connected to a computer using a signal conditioner and data acquisition card. Measurements can be taken a high velocity with degradation of the footprint.
