Research abstract

This SBIR effort aims to broadly study and understand the use of Wireless Power Transfer technology in Naval shipboard applications through modeling, simulation and analysis. The proposed solution is primarily focused on in-situ charging of underwater unmanned vehicles although other use cases will also be studied, culminating in a selected use case/application for which a preliminary design of a prototype WPT system will be developed in preparation for a Phase II effort. The proposal describes a plan to begin testing with existing WPT hardware in a conjunction with subcontracted Purdue University.
