Research abstract

The specific product intended for development and distribution throughout the United States manufacturing society will be a software package to assist manufacturing managers, engineers, organizers, schedulers and other appropriate personnel with their suitable planning of low-frequency endeavors. This PC/Macintosh based software package will provide menu-driven evaluations of low- frequency activities based on key performance criteria which will generate specific job time estimates and statistical surveys. The contemporary manufacturer will achieve substantial improvements in productivity through reliable planning, ameliorated resource allocation, goal-setting, and continuous improvement. The objective of this proposal is to combine prominent personnel with appropriate funding from the federal goverment and specifically identify and measure the independent variables associated with low-frequency job time performance. This will be achieved through direct observations and measurements of low- frequency industrial and government activities, conscientious statistical analysis, and foregoing software development. It is anticipated that Phase I of this project will secure preliminary statistical data of the variable evaluations, prevalent flow documentation of standards generations, and a precursory framework of the specific software model. The utilization of this innovation in NASA applications is divergent throughout the associated manufacturing and planning programs.
