Research abstract

Novel high surface area electrodes, based upon conducting polymers, will be fabricated for use in advanced multilayer capacitors. Compact and flexible capacitor designs are anticipated which will possess significantly improved energy densities compared with state-of-the-art capacitor systems. The development of high performance and safe energy systems is an important National goal. The potential commercial applications are many, including virtually every portable and backup electronic medium in society today.
