Research abstract
Reality by Design, an Advanced Interactive Systems company, proposes to fuse two compelling technologies to create a training simulator that is capable of recreating these emerging threats with stunning realism. This SEAL Tactical Simulator will progressfrom a collection of suitable scenarios to development of tactical responses to determining the relative merits of each option. This new training system will provide the trainee with a networked virtual environment featuring high-resolution video basedtraining scenarios. Transition between the two technologies will be smooth and seamless. Exercising both tactical and judgment skills, this simulation will provide a compelling environment complete with an immersive training station, scenario generationtools and after action review capability and it will all run on an inexpensive PC. This system will provide maximum training value at a reasonable price.Commercial potential exists for mission rehearsal of law enforcement officers, security personnel, orborder patrols in dangerous, urban situations such as hostage rescue, anti-terrorist and crime-fighting activities. These applications will support distance learning and distributed simulation systems.
