Research abstract

Not Available We propose to apply our Power Node Control Center (PNCC) technology to develop a converter for the V22 application that meets the power quality, size, weight and cost requirements. The innovations in our concept are: (1) the use of Multi Functional Programmable Modules (MFPM) which are half bridge leg to perform the power factor correction, boost rectification on the input end, and the buck conversion on the output, (2) the use of Pulse Current Modulation to perform the power factor correction on the input, and (3) the use of plastic coated iron powder composite pot cores to form the chokes required for filtering which reduces the size and the cost of the filters. In Phase 1 of this effort, we propose to develop the concept and conduct bench type test to validate key concepts.
