Research abstract

THIS PROPOSAL IS DIRECTED AT PHASED DEVELOPMENT OF FLUSH MOUNTED, HIGH RESPONSE SKIN FRICTION GAUGE THAT CAN BE USED IN HIGH TEMPERATURE ENVIRONMENTS. THE OBJECTIVE IS TO INCREASE THE TEMPERATURE RANGE OF UTILITY OF REYNOLDS ANALOGY SENSORS. SEVERAL FABRICATION RELATED APPROACHES AREADVANCED THAT MIGHT BOOST THE TEMPERATURE RANGE AND RESPONSEOF A CONVENTIONAL SENSOR. THESE ARE ADVANCED PROGRESSIVELY AS AN ADVANCED SUBSTRATE, A CERAMIC FILM COATING AND FINALLYA THERMO-ELECTRIC JUNCTION FILAMENT. THE SENSOR WOULD BE EXPECTED TO FUNCTION IN A SIMILAR MANNER TO A CONVENTIONAL FILM DEVICE IN TERMS OF CALIBRATION, MODE OF OPERATION AND TYPICAL APPLICATION.
