Research abstract

An image merging system is proposed for in-flight FLIR operation. The frames acquired with various camera orientations are combined to form a single image with larger field of view. The merger transforms the acquired component frames to compensate for the plane motion during the frame sequence acquisition. The motion parameters are estimated by analysis of the frame sequence. The operation can be implemented in real time.
