Research abstract
An oil-free high temperature bearing damper is proposed for application to the JETEC engine. The damper design is low cost, lightweight, operates at temperatures exceeding 1000 Degree C, and yields high damping. The effort proposed herein will develop a damper design for application to the JETEC rotor assembly, develop software for prediction of its performance, and perform a rigorous rotordynamic analysis of the JETEC.
