Research abstract

We propose to develop a machine and process specification for an instrument designed to modify microcircuit boards in near real time via laser microchemical deposition. The DOD is increasingly concerned about costs stemming from schedule slippage in developing complex systems dependent on electronics. The program will provide the first step in developing a commercial instrument for rapid iteration of electronics for the purpose of debug to achieve optimization and robustness of design. The result would be an instrument capable of significant time and cost saving in developing DOD and commercial electronics.
