Research abstract

Distributed Mission Training (DMT) provides training in a simulated full-mission environment. Due to technology limitations, analyses are critical to determine what can be trained and to what level it can be trained. To meet this critical need, VSATproposes a new process, Distributed Mission Training Requirements Analysis (DMTRA), supported by an interactive Mission Training Analysis Database (MTAD). The process will connect mission requirements through a trail of mission essential competencies insupport of the Air Combat Command Ready Aircrew Program, to the performance of specific simulated subsystems. Results will be in forms understood at all decision-making levels. The process will include DMT entity interactions and the complex interactiveenvironment. In Phase I, VSAT developed samples of the process and database that demonstrated their feasibility. In Phase II, VSAT proposes to perform research and analysis to develop and integrate all aspects of the process, creating a fully functionalMTAD prototype. VSAT proposes to demonstrate the process and MTAD by performing a comprehensive analysis of AFRL/HEA training missions and a distributed exercise with a remote facility.
