Ultra-Low Noise Acoustic Sensor

ĢThe Ultra-Low Noise Acoustic Sensor effort is a new class of low-cost infrasonic data recording sensor comprised of electronic, electromechanical, and sensor element subsystems.Ā GSEÆs Phase I objective is the preliminary design of a system that defines the major subsystems in sufficient detail to fabricate prototypes. Ā This is a necessary step to develop functional prototypes of a new class of miniature directional sensors that will meet the demands of hi-altitude flight. Testing in representative environments will verify the assumptions of the Phase I design. That information is critical to make updates and optimizations. After beta prototype testing, we will be well prepared to manufacture a family of optimized sensors at the price and performance benchmarks identified in Ph I. In parallel and in anticipation of commercialization, we will work through teaming, to achieve market objectives and business arrangements for full production of the new line of infrasonic transducers.
