Research abstract
Historically, Army installations have been a safe haven ¢ building culture, training soldiers, and providing a desirable quality of life for service members and their families. Presently, the Army relies on labor-intensive patrols for securing installations, resulting in high operational costs, slow response times, and frequent disruptions to training activities ¢ thus impacting installation safety and readiness. Technology modernization is pivotal to promoting safety, supporting readiness, and increasing resilience within each installation and in the constellation of installations as a whole. Thus, the Army has initiated an aggressive modernization effort, not just for installations, but also for posts, camps and stations ¢ which face similar threats.Ā Ultimately, the Army seeks to develop an ōintegrated system of systemsö fusing aggregated information from multiple sources to process data and carry out predictive and prescriptive analytics by executing complex Artificial Intelligence models to develop a real-time situational awareness and threat-response system. The present effort is the design of a web-based command and control interface that (1) allows military end users to analyze, store, and share photo/video data and (2) provides Army end users with real-time AI-driven data. The successful design of the present effort will provide the groundwork for the development of the integrated system of systems.
