Research abstract

Etegent proposes to develop a tool which will provide pilots and planners with accurate estimates of the performance of their rotorcraft fleet – giving additional confidence of mission success.  The engine performance algorithm will use real time recorded data from the existing flight systems, and modern machine learning techniques to estimate engine performance across all systems, both legacy and modern.  Training data will be created by an industry standard propulsion simulation which is able to accurately estimate operating characteristics across many different engine types, environmental conditions, and levels of component damage or degradation.  This simulation data creates a rich and realistic dataset to train the models and evaluate model performance.
