Research abstract

Spin Drift Technologies (SDT) is developing a modular Machine Vision/Artificial Intelligence system that allows for low probability of intercept / low probability of detection communication in contested or denied environments.   The development process of this system is multi-faceted. SDT will be utilizing a parallel workflow to streamline the achievement of milestones. The team is broken into two well defined groups. Group 1 focuses on research, experimentation, and hardware configuration while Group 2 focuses on software development. Through the mutual exchange of data, the groups will build upon each other’s efforts. Group 1’s research will serve as a basis for Group 2’s function implementations. Group 2’s software prototypes will provide an experimentation tool for Group 1’s data collection. This parallel and interwoven development method allows for an elevated level of refinement and efficiency during the project's lifecycle.   During Phase 1, SDT’s testing revealed that it is possible to leverage MLs pattern recognition to correct major sources of aberration. The ability to calculate and reverse refraction gradients caused by convection in the atmosphere would dramatically improve the capability of optic systems in adverse environments. SDT will create a revolutionary method of communication using the synthesis of high-end imaging sensors, advanced optics, data codes, and novel software. The discrete nature of optical, non-emissive, code capture provides a method of Low Probability of Intercept/Low Probability of Detection data transfer. Through this innovation, we aim to improve the survivability, capability, and lethality of the modern warfighter.
