Hybrid Augmented Reality Military HMD Advanced Visor Optics

Ā This Sequential SBIR Proposal involves continuing development of low cost visor optics for head-mounted displays from SBIR topic A19-041. This device will help address and solve many problems encountered by the Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) 1.0. A delivered working prototype to C5ISR demonstrated PhaseSpace Advanced Visor Optics in Phase II with Commercial Off the Shelf Displays up to 2160 x 2160 x 2 at 2.1 x 2.1 inches, and daylight readable outdoors high brightness display at .75 x .5 inches with a custom OLEDworks monochrome green Display. The end result had a large comfortable eyebox, excellent eye relief, and allowed users to wear prescription eyeglasses and view high resolution images. The Army would like to advanced the design further, reducing the Size, Weight, and Power, with both newer commercial displays, and a custom Display, the US Army will provide. This will enhance the Army capabities and provide a viable alternative to the much more expensive IVAS 1.0 solution, with better performance in almost all areas.Ā
