Research abstract

ThermoAI will develop a complete Software Suite that integrates with industrial control systems on NAVSEA energy systems through a graphical user interface (GUI). With this software, service members can visualize trends in historical data, run in-silico experiments on a digital twin of the facility, and automate dynamic airflow settings for maximal thermal efficiency and minimal greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The product is needed because current controls rely on inaccurate assumptions that create operational inefficiencies, resulting in unnecessary pollution, wasted fuel, and comprised mission readiness. Combining scientific theory with data-driven analytics, ThermoAI’s simulation and optimization algorithms find customized solutions for individual facilities, ensuring that mission critical assets achieve and maintain dynamic stoichiometry in real-time. ThermoAI’s backend algorithms can reduce emissions and fuel costs, while the frontend Software Suite will accelerate adoption among plant operators. Areas of application include energy generation and heat generation used on NAVSEA installations.
