Research abstract
Crop stress can have a significant effect on the yield and quality of crops. Abiotic stresses such as
adverse environmental conditions can strongly reduce crop performance with significant yield
losses. Climate-driven migration of pathogens and pests further confronts locally adapted crop
genotypes with new biotic stress factors. Thus farmers face a significant challenge when it comes
to controlling crop yield. Madain's groundbreaking GAI-based rapid app prototyping platform
Edgebot.ai can help enhance plant health and productivity. By utilizing advanced image
recognition and analysis capabilities Edgebot.ai will enable farmers to capture pictures of crops
and receive real time information about their maturity and health as well as the likelihood of
developing disease and being affected by abiotic stress. We anticipate that our efforts will result in:
1) Reduction in loss of crops and an increase in crop production due to providing a timely response
to distressed plants and surrounding area; 2) Cost reduction for crop management; 3) Wide use of
platform even by non-tech savvy personnel as Edgebot.ai is self-deployed and compatible with
Android and IOS platforms; 4) Frequent use by small farmers in rural areas as Edgebot.ai does not
require the Internet at all times. During Phase I Madain Corp will develop and test their novel
platform. This will enable Madain Corp to de-risk its key innovations and to create a user-friendly
platform for farms of all sizes agricultural service companies and governmental agencies to
custom build their own supplemental farming management apps.
