Research abstract

MaXentric is proposing the use of our MaXSDR SoC as the brain center of small autonomous systems. It will provide the processing power required for autonomous operations and the datalink required for wireless communication. Current technologies are vendor specific and have excessive size, weight, power and cost.Ā This results in autonomous systems that do not communicate across differing platforms, are inflexible to changing conditions and suffer from short operating times.Ā Our system on chip (SoC) approach overcomes these challenges through integration in silicon. It leverages a tightly integrated parallelized computing fabric which allows for on the fly reprogrammability.Ā It is computationally powerful and flexible enough for use on large unmanned systems with multiple high bandwidth sensors yet small and efficient enough for use on the most compact platforms. Since the same SoC can be used across multiple planforms uniform compatibility is ensured and scaled production will push down price. As part of this project MaXentric will demonstrate autonomous software functions on the MaXSDR SoC and generate the software and hardware tools necessary for integration into the DoDÆs autonomous platform ecosystem.ĀĀ
