Research abstract
This Phase I proposal outlines an analysis for the eventualĀdevelopment of a groundbreaking self-powered, on-body wearable physiological sensor optimized for military applications. The wearable harnesses body heat and solar energy for continuous, uninterrupted operation for over 60 days. A core focus is conducting an in-depth analysis to minimize the noise floor of the sensor transducers, ensuring the highest data accuracy. Additionally, we will provide a comprehensive cost analysis to facilitate the transition of all manufacturing processes to the United States, emphasizing "Made in U.S.A." compliance. Building upon our existing expertise, including our existing self-powered (> 60-day battery life)ĀPerceptive wearable, we will enhance this platform with state-of-the-art, lower-noise sensors. This will result in an innovative wearable sensor capable of providing real-time multivariate/multimodal sensing biomarkers and health status summary information, vital for disconnected military environments. The ultimate objective of this Phase I project is to establish a proof-of-concept for further testing and refinement in Phase II while driving innovation in wearable technology tailored for military use.
