Research abstract

The objective of this project is to develop a software infrastructure called FAST to index, export, and search large volumes of archived data across streams of telemetry and mission data and other data sources from multiple satellite missions and cross-domain data from other services in order to produce deep forensic analytics. Harmonia shall develop and deliver a Phase II system called FAST for the U.S. Air Force in the form of a fully functional infrastructure to ingest multiple high-volume data streams, to ingest archival data, to ingest unclassified commercial Space Domain Awareness data from sources such as the Unified Data Library, to store all data, and to enable deep forensic analysis algorithms. To assist in an increasingly crowded space environment, an application of FAST is to support Space operators (SOs), to process opening mission board events, event updates, and downstream activities, and operational logs to generate statistics on event types and subsequent actions/results (e.g., # of close approach events, likelihood of subsequent events, time to close). FAST is designed to be self-hosted by the USAF in a cloud environment, such as Platform One.
