Research abstract

This project to enhance unmanned systems for the U.S. Marine Expeditionary Forces through a "Build-Test-Build" process, in partnership with the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and the United States Marine Corps (USMC). The initiative aims to integrate the use of micro-unmanned surface vehicles (USV), micro-unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV), and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) for island-hopping missions in the South Pacific and the Baltic Archipelagos. The SOW describes the technical study, development, and demonstration efforts required to improve existing small unmanned systems, along with a parallel effort to develop new agile manufacturing capabilities. The goal is to design, develop, test, and integrate low-cost unmanned systems, including an ACCOMS capableUSV, a Micro UUV, and an amphibious SONAR UAVxUSV.
