Research abstract

Advanced Cooling Technologies, Inc. (ACT), Solar Turbines, Inc. (ST), and University of Southern California (USC) propose to develop a novel ammonia reformer that enables gas turbines to operate with ammonia, a promising carbon-free and energy-dense fuel of the future. The exceptionally efficient design of an innovative “Swiss-roll” style device partially modifies ammonia to improve its burning properties without the need for additional conversion energy or expensive catalysts.
