Research abstract

The world is currently in a state of constant attack and Cyber Instability. Lifecycle tracking of manufactured goods is mission critical for the safety and security of our warfighters.  We intend to protect the integrity of our military assets by embedding our unique aerospace sensors into every possible aspect of the supply chain to aid in security enforcement to detect & expose counterfeiting.  EPI has made a deliberate oversimplification of the highly technical field of passive Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) with our innovative Aerospace RFID tags.  Current RFID technology is extremely vulnerable to cyber-attacks, counterfeiting, data loss/manipulation and theft of Intellectual Property.  The only way to “Hack” data is if it is accessible. We plan to disrupt the standard practice of storing data on “secure” servers or clouds, by adopting a reverse strategy by what we term, “Stealth” or “Off-the-Grid” (OTG) data storage. By developing this data storage method, our RFID tags will self-contain the secure data identifying origin and the entire supply chain provenance.  By looking at the big picture of why we are susceptible to cyber-attacks, we have concluded that current high technology has crippled, rather than helped advance us.  EPI has made a deliberate oversimplification of the highly technical field of passive RFID and plan to utilize this this technology to achieve a secure, “Detect and Avoidance Anti-Counterfeit System”.
