Research abstract

The Phase I study successfully demonstrated the viability of the MVP mobile target technology as a multi-purpose training solution for the military. The response of the Special Operations personnel to the testing iterations significantly built our confidence that this technology fills a need for a cost-effective and flexible live-fire training platform. The Phase I testing allowed us to narrow our focus to the Key Performance Parameters that will be critical to making the MVP HEKTR a successful product with broad adoption in tactical training: i) modifying/refining the armored drive train features for optimum performance in required outdoor plus indoor and urban terrain, ii) integration of the new bullet sensing target technology into a modular, easily replaceable humanoid form effective for live fire engagement at long distance and close quarters, iii) Integration of robot control and bullet strike feedback applications on a user-designated digital interface for real-time data capture and performance communicated to the training cadre / RSOs.
