Research abstract

Geosite is a comprehensive, cloud-based repository and management tool for geospatial data such as satellite or drone imagery, IOT, or human generated data. Through the aggregation of public and commercial data, Geosite is a highly streamlined platform, affording market-wide accessibility for rapid search, selection, assembly, and export of diverse data sets. Geosite enables the Department of Defense to leverage a global source of commercial geospatial data assets through one streamlined search and export interface. Low-latency geospatial data aggregation and analytics services on Geosite’s platform present an opportunity for not only delivering key resources to geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) analysts and organizations, but also growing the geospatial ecosystem through a robust and simplified data portal - delivering best-available data rapidly to the warfighter for mission planning and execution. With this SBIR proposal we will explore not only increased connectivity of data sources, giving better access to information to the warfighter, but also to deepen experimentation into the partnerships and business models for bringing commercial data further into the Department of Defense.
