Research abstract

The purpose of this Phase II effort is to continue developing, from the existing prototype, an aircrew simulator/game that allows training in a high-fidelity environment, complete with configurable and reportable performance metrics and data gathering. The updated solution will include more robust content for the Simulator, VR-based display and controls, additional options and modules within the Scenario Editor, more granular metrics for the LRS, and a new Course Management system for use by trainers and trainees. Progeny Systems will perform additional development on the existing simulator prototype to flesh out new content determined by interaction with the TPOC. The updated Simulator will be more directly powered by the Scenario Editor, which will contain new options for scenario generation, as well as a new Equipment Designer module. New performance metrics will be specified by developers for output into the LRS, which will generate meaningful and informative viewable data for use by instructors. The new Course Management module will be designed and developed for use by trainers to create packages of multiple scenarios depending on trainee needs.
