Research abstract

Etegents goal is to further develop and enhance the automated inspection and damage mapping system that was demonstrated in the Phase I effort, raising the TRL level from 5 to 7.In this second phase, further enhancements to the detection capability and registration accuracy of the inspection system will be developed.Automated damage quantification algorithms will be developed. The inspection system and software will be integrated into a COTS robotic platform.Improvements to the users setup of an inspection program for a part will be made. This includes investigating an ability for the user to define an inspection program using the CAD model of the part as opposed to a representative structure. The results of the inspection will be stored in Etegents NLign software package for analysis, visualization, and trending. This capability will serve to provide another source of data for ongoing digital thread and digital twin efforts.
