Research abstract

The goal of this SBIR proposal is to develop and demonstrate an innovative software design tool that will automate the techniques used in shock qualification by extension in a way that designers and engineers can use throughout the design process. The envisioned tool will be referred to throughout this proposal as the Comparative Design Assessment Tool (CDAT).The CDAT tool will present a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that automates both demonstration that the new item possesses equal or greater shock resistance than the originally tested item and that the new shipboard environment is no more severe than that of the original item.
