Research abstract

The objective of the present Phase II program is to develop a monolithic broadly tunable surface emitting quantum cascade laser (QCL) to simplify the fabrication and testing procedures of high power quantum cascade lasers, as well as to improve manufacturing yield while maintaining or improving performance in term of output power, spectral tuning range and beam quality. The solution proposed is consistent with low-cost and scalable manufacturing techniques.
