Research abstract

The DoDĺs push for rapid development of diverse autonomous systems has inspired industry partners to innovate in UxS capabilities, components, and platforms. To fully capitalize on these advancements, the DoD must consider how best-in-class systems can interoperate seamlessly in highly competitive operational environments. Beyond hardware, there is a pressing need to 1) replace control schemas with vendor-agnostic, heterogeneous orchestration frameworks and 2) design use-case-specific, mixed-fleet collaboration algorithms. NODA AI proposes a novel solution to address these needs using a multi-agent orchestration approach that leverages finely tuned AI agents. These agents optimize mission requirements, assess available assets and their capabilities, integrate with use-case-specific algorithms, and dynamically generate vendor-specific robotic tasking code in real-time. This approach offers unmatched flexibility and scalability, enabling seamless synchronization of capabilities across diverse DoD autonomous systems. By fostering collaborative teaming among heterogeneous autonomous systems, this solution has the potential to drive a generational shift in tactical-level battle management and command and control, essential for future conflicts.
