Research abstract

This SBIR develops new innovative clustering and de-interleaving algorithms, leverages and refines existing algorithms and software, and integrates them within an open architecture framework for submarine EW/ISR applications. The solution addresses a wide variety of nine challenging radar waveform classes for which current approaches, per the solicitation, are noted to have problems. It leverages RAS Multi-Algorithm Unique Emitter ID SBIR Phase II and RIF efforts, among others, which have developed software modules (C/C++ and MATLAB) for clustering, RF Agile clustering, cluster correlation, track association, and emitter identification. It exploits previously developed Specific Emitter Features (SEF), not only for Specific Emitter ID (SEI), but also for cluster correlation, specific emitter tracking (SET), RF agile and PW/PRF agile processing. In Phase I many techniques were reviewed, several were modeled, and high promise algorithms were selected for PHASE II prototype development and demonstration within the RAS developed MAUEI EDM test-bed. After the successful Phase II testing, RAS will work with the government and platform prime to develop a detailed plan and implementation approach to integrate and demonstrate the technology into the Processing Layer of the NAVSEA Next Generation EW system architecture concept.
