Research abstract

The overall objective of this SBIR program is to develop an advanced low SWaP-C GPS L1 and L2 anti-jam system (E-MAGNA) that is comparable in performance to the current ADAP system and is fully compatible with the Navy GPNTS system. The proposed effort in this SBIR Phase II program will consist of: (1) identifying and updating MAGNA IS-GPS-099 software messages to allow full communications with GPS-based Position, Navigation, and Timing Services (GPNTS) system, and (2): investigate, implement and, verify and validate a Size, Weight, and Power and Cost (SWaP-C) - optimized, high-performance alternative to the current “gold-standard” Advanced Digital Antenna Production (ADAP) Fiber Optical Antenna Link (FOAL) Ground Plane Assembly. This SBIR program supports the Navy PMW/A 170’s objectives to continue to support the Navy requirements for high performance low SWaP-C GPS Anti-Jam system for protection (of modernized military GPS signals) from jamming simultaneously in L1 and L2 frequency bands. The primary focus of the effort proposed in this SBIR Phase II program is on the development, test and evaluation of a prototype of the MAGNA FOAL GPA that can lead to the development of the Enhanced MAGNA GPA (E-MAGNA) with performance comparable to that of ADAP.
