Research abstract

We propose an AI-powered voice agent platform designed to automate various call workflows for the military personnel centers and military medical facilities. As an example, the Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC) handles over 200,000 annual calls, many of which are routine inquiries that burden personnel with repetitive tasks. Our solution leverages advanced natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning to enable AI voice agents to handle calls related to personnel moves, order statuses, administrative processes, and appointment scheduling without human intervention.áThe technical approach focuses on creating a secure, compliant system prepared for IL5 and IL6 deployment levels, ensuring the highest standards of data protection. The platform is also HIPAA-compliant, allowing safe handling of sensitive medical information. Our AI agents integrate seamlessly with existing databases and systems, enabling them to access and update information in real-time. This integration allows for tasks such as scheduling appointments, providing order updates, and processing administrative requests.áOur core innovation lies in combining advanced AI voice technology with strict compliance to DoD and HIPAA security standards, filling a critical gap in current government and commercial operations. By automating up to 60% of call center interactions, we anticipate significantly reducing the workload on personnel by thousands of hours annually, allowing them to focus on mission-critical duties. This aligns with the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) mission areas by enhancing operational efficiency and streamlining business processes.áAdditionally, our solution is designed with scalability in mind, serving as a foundation for future AI automation products across various departments within the DoD and private sector. Early prototypes have demonstrated effectiveness in handling diverse call types, showcasing the potential to transform not just medical and personnel services but a wide range of administrative functions within government agencies.
